  • Please read through this message completely and also please make sure your dojo mates are aware of the information presented.
  • We would like to announce the registration is now open for the shinpan seminar on May 2 and shinsa (up to 4 Dan) on May 3. These two events are part of the SEUSKF outreach to members to try and present opportunities for training and promotion in our Federation.
  • Deadline for registration to both forms is April 23rd, 2026.

 

SHINPAN SEMINAR

SHINSA

  • Sunday, May 3 8:30 AM – noon (doors open at 8:00 AM)
  • Please note, for the shinsa we are trying out a new registration method using Jotform. Please read the instructions below completely, paying attention to the section on sensei signature approval.
  • The registration form is REQUIRED, please fill out all required fields in the form. https://form.jotform.com/260785450521153
  • Before filling out, make sure you have all required information completed such as having paid your membership fees a minimum of 30 days prior to the shinsa, sensei approval, time in rank requirements, and, if testing for 4 DAN, documentation of both attendance at a minimum of 1 shinpan seminar from anytime in your kendo history; PLUS documentation of having been a shinpan in a tournament within the last year prior to the shinsa.

SENSEI APPROVAL FORM

  • Please note, we have made a sensei approval form that will take an online signature. This form can be signed on a touch screen device (mobile phone, tablet, or laptop with touchscreen capability or writing pad accessory.
  • In our experience a tablet of phone works very well and if you use the phone or tablet you can have your sensei sign at a practice, just make sure the required fields are all filled out.), or you can send your sensei the link to the form in an email or text (once again, make sure you give sensei all the information needed which includes your name as it appears in your AUSKF membership and your AUSKF ID#)

ADDITIONAL GENERAL INFORMATION

  • When filling out the forms please be sure to use your name as it appears in your AUSKF membership registration.
  • Be aware of the time in rank requirements for the rank you will be testing for.
  • There is not a group dinner planned at the moment. Should this change, a notice will be sent out.
  • If you would like to test, but are a member of another Federation than the SEUSKF, please note you are required to get permission from your Federation President in order to test.
  • If there are any changes or updates to this announcement, we will post them on the SEUSKF website, mailing list, as well as Facebook page.

NOTES REGARDING THE SEUSKF TEAM PRACTICE

  • SEUSKF will be hosting the team practice in preparation for the 2026 AUSKF Nationals. Please note that this practice session is not open to the public, and by invitation from the coaches only.
